ADVnor's Owner Conference 2011 conducted in style The Owner Conference is sponsored by ADVnor, with the overall goal of creating a forum for technical content and inspiration for owners and managers of private Norwegian companies. This year’s edition, held on October 26, had a handful of skilled and highly professional speakers from Norwegian businesses, such as John M. Lervik (CEO cXense, founder of FAST), Ole Jacob Sunde (Owner, Wealth Management, Chairman Schibsted), Geir Ove Kjesbu (CEO, Investinor) , Bjorn Skare (Managing Partner, ADVnor), Thu Malmo (Former CEO of Logica), Sun In Berge (Former CEO Bertel O Steen and Toyota AS), Erik Fekete (Partner, Law Firm Tenden) and Odd Gleditsch d.y. (Partner, Tenden Law Firm, Chairman, Jotun). Far from being a commercial arena, the event managed to have an active contribution from the participants and allowed a mutual exchange of ideas around: • Building an international technology company against takeovers • How assets are managed • Value drivers and owner assignments • Practical experience in the purchase and sale of companies • Companies seen from the investor side • Establishing a company in unknown terrain • Sustainability in the family owned company All in all, the Owner Conference 2011 was attended by owners and managers of an important number of companies, with very positive feedback from both presenters and conference participants, providing ADVnor with light and energy to repeat the initiative in the years ahead.
